Look of the Day for 5/20: Astros to stay hot

It's time for a new week with our Look of the Day series, and with no NBA on the schedule for Monday night, we have to look elsewhere for our favorite bet. Let's head over to MLB and target a run line for Monday night's slate.

Look of the Day: Houston Astros -1.5 (+102 FanDuel)

Angels at Astros, 8:10 p.m. ET

After a brutal start to the season, the Astros are starting to turn it on with nine wins in their last 11 games, and six of those wins came by two or more runs. Over the last 15 days, Houston ranks second in MLB in batting average (.280), second in OPS (.801) and third in home runs (17).

The Astros will be facing off against the Los Angeles Angels and Reid Detmers, who started the season hot but is struggling over the last month. In his last five starts, Detmers has given up 35 base hits, 26 earned runs and five homers. The Angels are 0-5 in those games with four losses by two runs or more.

In 97 combined plate appearances against Detmers, current Astros hitters are batting .289 with a .346 xwOBA. Houston has crushed left-handed pitching all year, and this lineup has a ton of experience against Detmers.

If this is a close game late, we still like our chances considering the Angels bullpen has the second-highest ERA and the fourth-most home runs allowed this season. We think the Astros stay hot on Monday night.
