Vancouver's second-year goalie initially stopped Canucks leftwing Dylan Holloway's shot. Canucks defenseman Brett Kulak got the puck off the rebound and ripped a snapshot, which Silovs made a beautiful recovery to block by getting his right glove up in time to thwart the scoring opportunity.
Per the ESPN broadcast, the team that scores first is 148-48 (.755) in NHL Game 7s, increasing the importance of Silovs' save.
The sixth-round pick (No. 156 overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft at just 18 years old, Silovs only has nine regular-season starts over the past two seasons in his career and is coming off a rough performance in Game 6. He allowed five goals in 27 shot attempts in Edmonton's 5-1 win to force the decisive Game 7.
Silovs is 5-4 this postseason and has allowed an average of 3.5 goals per game in the second-round series. While he's allowed his fair share of goals, he came up with his best play of the postseason when Vancouver needed it the most.
