Caitlin Clark will take the court in her first regular season WNBA game next week when the Indiana Fever take on the Connecticut Sun. Following that game, the Phoenix Mercury will face the Las Vegas Aces. Disney Plus is getting into the live sports streaming business by streaming the two games to subscribers. The games will also be available on ESPN Plus and ESPN2.

Disney's first time livestreaming sports

The two WNBA games will be the first time Disney Plus will livestream sports events. The streaming service has done some sports testing with NFL and NHL games that used animated characters instead of live action from the field or arena.

The news about the upcoming coverage comes after Disney CEO Bob Iger commented on Disney Plus adding an ESPN title during a quarterly earnings call on Tuesday.

“We see this as a first step to bring ESPN to Disney Plus viewers as we ready the launch of our enhanced standalone ESPN streaming in the fall of 2025,” Iger said during the call.

The games could give Disney Plus huge viewership numbers. Women's college basketball gained a massive audience this season, with the final game between South Carolina and the University of Iowa bringing in an average of 18.7 million viewers and peaking at 24 million, making it the most-watched basketball game since 2019, according to ESPN.

When to watch Caitlin Clark's first game
