Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Receives Unsurprising 2024 Prediction
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are entering the 2024 NFL season looking to do something that is very rarely done. They are hoping to three-peat as NFL champions. After overcoming a lot of adversity last season, they were able to get another ring with a hard-fought win over the San Francisco 49ers.

During the NFL offseason, they have had a rollercoaster of emotions. While they added and kept a lot of talent, they also saw rising wide receiver Rashee Rice get himself into a ton of legal issues.

Looking ahead to the 2024 campaign, the Chiefs are once again a Super Bowl favorite. As long as they have Mahomes leading the way, they’re going to be a top threat.

For the superstar quarterback himself, he has received a big, but unsurprising prediction for the 2024 season.

Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Receives Unsurprising 2024 Prediction

Nick Shook, a writer for NFL.com, took a look at the quarterback position around the league. He wrote about 10 way-to-early potential MVP candidates. As many would predict, Patrick Mahomes took the top spot on that list.

“If Mahomes is healthy and Kansas City doesn’t fall like the Roman Empire, the man will be in this conversation. Coming off back-to-back Super Bowl titles, the two-time regular-season MVP (2018, 2022) received some much-needed reinforcements this offseason, too, in the form of Marquise Brown and deep threat Xavier Worthy, whom the Chiefs traded up for in Round 1 of last month’s draft. As long as he’s on the field, Mahomes can never be counted out of this award race.”

Each and every year, it seems like Mahomes is one of the top candidates to win MVP. Of course, no one can fault that when they look at the success he has led the Kansas City Chiefs to throughout his career thus far.

Last season, Mahomes ended up having a bit of a down season by his standards. He completed 67.2 percent of his pass attempts for 4,183 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. A big part of the issue for him was that his targets were dropping passes at an alarmingly high rate.

Despite his weapons struggling a bit, Mahomes led his team to a championship. Enough can’t be said about how good Mahomes has been. Without him, there is no chance that the Kansas City Chiefs would have become the dynasty that they have been for years.

Expect to see yet another massive and dominant season from Mahomes in 2024. The Chiefs added some more weapons for him to work with and are hoping to have Rice back on the field at some point during the year. Picking him as a favorite for the MVP award is a clear move to make.
