TEAMS: Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, New York Giants
Before the start of the 2009 season, most NFL observers without a specific rooting interest would have told you that in the NFC East, the favorites had to be the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, with the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins capable of competing for the division only if everything went right. Well, we know how things have gone for the Redskins, but things are definitely looking up for the Cowboys. The undrafted Miles Austin(notes) is looking like a threat of Drew Pearson proportions, Tony Romo(notes) is playing consistently well recently, and the combination of their huge offensive line and three-headed running back attack makes Dallas a very tough team to stop. Now that DeMarcus Ware(notes) has jumped off the milk carton, the Cowboys look strong -- they certainly did when they demolished the weak-kneed Seahawks, 38-17, at the Jerry Jones Den of Iniquity today.Meanwhile, the Eagles are up to their usual Jekyll-and-Hyde tricks. Two weeks after an embarrassin...

Romo Spreads the Wealth, Cowboys Shoot Down Seahawks 38-17
This NFL season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has gotten his share of grief, as he has had games that were not vintage Romo. A combination of poor stats along with some questionable playcalling contributed to some degree to Dallas’ losses this year.

Balancing It Out
Yes there was only 1 football on the field at a time, but from the way Dallas looked this week and the way Tony Romo spread the ball around it sure didnt look like it. Dallas had seattle confused from the very beginning on what their game plan was and that was to dominate.

Dallas Cowboys Whoop Seattle Seahawks
The Dallas Cowboys are heating up after a 38-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks, in what many said was a trap game for the Cowboys.

Cowboys blow scoring opportunity
ARLINGTON - After reaching the Seahawks 36 on an 18-yard pass to Jason Witten, the Cowboys fell apart.
Seattle sacked Tony Romo on first down for a 4-yard loss, forced him to scramble for 10 yards on second down, nearly intercepted a pass on third down and then watched with huge smiles as Nick Folk's 48-yard field goal try sailed wide right.
Cowboys still lead 14-10 with 5...
Not much separating quarterbacks
Pretty surprising that Matt Hasselbeck has stayed pretty even with Tony Romo. With 7:52 left in the third quarter, Hasselbeck is 13 of 23 for 151 yards, one TD and no interceptions. Romo is 12-of-25 for 155 yards, two TDs and no interceptions.
Disconnect continues for Tony Romo and Roy Williams
ARLINGTON — Tony Romo and Roy Williams aren’t on the same page. Coach Wade Phillips even acknowledged it after the Dallas Cowboys’ 38-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon at Cowboys Stadium.
Surging Cowboys Turn Focus to Eagles
by Nancy GayFiled under: Cowboys, SeahawksARLINGTON, Texas -- A month ago, the Dallas Cowboys were a 2-2 mess; inconsistent on offense, generous on defense and seemingly already out of contention in the cutthroat NFC East following a mistake-filled thrashing by the then-undefeated Broncos in Denver.Flash forward to Sunday's lopsided 38-17 victory over the battered Seattle Seahawks...
Brian Russell Shouldn’t Have a Job in the NFL of the Week
For those of you who might be wondering, “Could the Seahawks have made Tony Romo look any better yesterday?” the answer is YES: they could still be starting Brian Russell at free safety. He’s too slow and too weak for the NFL, and I dare an NFL team to sign him and still finish the [...]
