There are over 100 schools that play Division 1 FBS football (formerly Division 1A). Most of these schools are named for their home state. However, there are 26 schools that include the name of their home city. How many of these cities/schools can you name in 5 minutes?

    MasonDixon is right. If you're going to include UTEP, UNLV, and UAB, you need UCLA. Also, Stanford is in Stanford, CA.

      I don't see 'Nova on the list either.

        'Nova's in the Championship Subdivision, Dewey. So that would be the explanation for that one.

  • Wake Forest is a long ways (~100 miles) from the town of Wake Forest. The school moved from there many years ago.

    I think UCLA should be on here because people typically say LA in the name. When it comes to the others the city names are generally left out like Cal, Nevada, North Carolina etc.
