Long 2 days....Denver
What's good everybody?
Well, everyone I've talked to about this trip was absolutely right, the drive from St. Louis to Denver was the worst and most difficult art of the trip thus far. We had a clinic to do in St. Louis on Tuesday night from 7-9m which went GREAT! We had 100 kids, went over developing good stick work, shooting, dodging, one on one defense, all the good stuff. It seemed like the kids had a great time, and Brett and I definitely enjoyed ourselves. For some reason, I figured it would be a good idea to schedule a clinic in Denver the very next night. So, after the clinic in St. Louis around 9:45pm, we hopped in the car and started the drive to Denver. 3 Red Bulls, 3 coffee's, and 12 hours later, we arrived in Denver... I guess t the end of the day, the drive wasn't as bad as it could have been. There weren't to many people on the road, and we got to see a pretty cool sunrise right as we got into Colorado. As we were leaving Kansas, we stopped at a McDonalds around 5:30am in the the middle of no where. There was absolutely nothing for miles. So, I rolled in to grab a breakfast sandwich, and I'm not even going to lie, I wasn't in the best of moods. I was a bit tired, a little sore from sitting in a car for 9 hours, and freezing! I went in and there were about 6 elderly people comfortably sitting in a booth having breakfast with each other. They were quite possibly the most friendly people I've ever met. They spoke, asked where I was from, what I was doing up this early, told me I needed t put a jacket on so I didn't catch a cold, all that good stuff. They changed my whole mood around, it was awesome. They seemed like such great people, and enjoying the simple things in life. Now we're still now sure where they came from or what time they had to get up. They weren't moving around too quickly, and as I said, there wasn't anything for a few miles in any direction, so they probably made a day out of the McDonalds trip. Either way, it was great meeting them. When we got to Denver around 9:30am, we checked into the hotel and took a nap. I wasn't as tired as I thought I would be though. We only slept a few hours, then got up, got some food and walked around in Denver for a bit. It was perfect outside, like 64 degrees. I couldn't have ben happier. Our clinic last night went well, and now we've got a few days off, which should be nice. I'll be able to catch up on working out, catch up on some e-mails, relax, maybe go do a little shopping, we'll see. Thanks for writing in about your favorite tv shows, I definitely have some shows in common with some of you. My list goes as follows.... Prison Break...I think it's the best show on TV. The writing in that show is ridiculous man. Who would of thought a show could about breaking out of prison could be that captivating 3 years after they've broken out of prison. Rob & Big.....So funny. Life of Ryan....It's actually a pretty interesting and entertaining show. as a 17 year old kid, that cat definitely has to go through all types of stuff and it's interesting to watch how he handles himself. Sarah Connor Chronicles....I've ALWAYS been a terminator fan, so I've enjoyed watching this show and I think they've done a great job with it. American Idol....Clearly, the first 6 shows or so with everyone trying out are comical, but I do enjoy watching the final 24 develop their talent and compete against each other week in and week out. Entourage....I know it's not on right now, but once the new season starts it will return to the best show on television. Honorable Mention... The Wire. I got started on it late, but I'm assuming once I get all caught up, it will be one of my favorites. Making the Band. Watching Diddy interact with the two bands is hilarious. Deal or No Deal. Exciting to watch. I still can't figure out how so many people walk out of there with a small amount of money. If you get to anything over 250, it's time to get out. But I enjoy watching nonetheless. Parental Control. Now, I'm a little embarrassed to admit this one. I definitely don't think it's good television, but if you've never seen it, please watch it's absolutely hysterical. That's pretty much if for now. We've got a few days off here in Denver to just chill and relax for while. That movie JUMPER came out today, so I'm thinking of checking that out at some point this weekend, we'll see. I'll get at you all in a few days, and have a great rest of the week. KH Here's a pic of Brett and I getting our flex on with a few kids from our clinic in St. Louis. 7 Comments On: "Long 2 days....Denver"
