A lot has been made about how empty Yankee Stadium has been so far this season. They’re averaging a few thousand less fans per game than they were last year. A lot of people are blaming the economy but the fact remains that nobody is going to pay $2,000+ for a single ticket. [...]

I find this kind of funny, how could they imagine people would pay that much?

I think Jerry is having trouble selling all of the expensive club seats at the new JerryWorld, too. It's a tight economy. Yankee Stadium is just crazy on those prices. Those seats are going to be empty for a long time to come.

And to think I b1tch about having to pay 8.00 for a beer. Makes me look kind of cheap doesn't it?

I must be really cheap - I'll only watch a pro game on tv - I can't afford to take my kids at those prices. I'll stick with the minor league games!

        The beers are $11.

11.00???? Holy Toledo!!! That's highway robbery. All I have to say is, get loaded before you go in.

I saw Steve Schirripa on tv, sitting in one of those expansive seats that no one can afford. I really wish I knew why the Yanks organization would really think people would pay for those seats... Gosh, every time I watch a Yanks game since this season started, or just quickly surfed the channel, and happened to stop by a Yanks game on ESPN, they look like they have no fans... There are soo many empty seats, because no one would pay for those prices for a game you can just watch on tv...

It will probably be the same everywhere soon. Then the owners and players will be crying and won't be able to make millions a year - maybe the fed govt will bail them out too!

I hope that the other cities and teams see that making seats that expensive does NOT help the cause. Yankees fans, as much as it pains me to admit, are typically true fans, and to empty a facility that way.....these prices should be a sign of what will happen everywhere.

Its the corporations not buying those pricey seats that`s at fault. That`s what happens when you take money from Big Brother and then HE watches your pocketbook. The days of out-of-town clients flying in to the Big Apple in their exec jets, to be wined, dined, and taken out to the old ball game are seemingly at an end. But cheer up New York, soon it`ll be the bigwigs from DC, that`ll be flying in via their exec jets to be wined, dined, and taken out to the old ball game. Eat your hearts out, Washington Nationals.

Hate to say this but it seems inevitable the way Steinbrenner runs that team and pays all those high salaries to players who don't perform when they get them is finally catching up to theYanks. Can't say that I am not glad to see this because I detest them so much. It just goes to show, you can't buy a championship this day and age you have to have team chemistry, especially in baseball because it is a team sport. And when you charge $2000 or more for a ticket, you take the working man out of the equation, because he will not be able to take his son or daughter to a game at those prices. Good luck with that NY, hope the stadium doesn't get repoed.

At last night's game, the Yankees fans that stayed after the fifth inning were in the bleacher sections. These bleachers, because of the Mohegan Sun bar, can only see half of the field. They're really taking care of the people who count.

Easy solution; go to the Mohegan Sun Saloon, have half-a-dozen boilermakers, return to your bleacher seat. Voila! You see two of everything, so half-a-field becomes a whole field. You`re happy, the Mohegan Sun bar is happy, and the Yankees` accountants are happy.

You know, one of the first rules of business is -know your client. Guess old Steinbrenner didn't do his homework again. He turned his back on his #1 client. The middle class family. Nice job.
