Greatest Players Never To Win A Championship

OK, so I'm on my greatest players kick but there is just so much history to be told in each sport. This list is a collection of the greatest players who fell short of just one goal, to win a title.

Here's the list of the greatest players never to hoist a championship trophy in order of greatness:

Without thinking too much about it: Barry Sanders, Patrick Ewing, Dan Marino.

let us not forget sir charles barkley...

Dewey and Kgoon...I put Sanders, Ewing, Marino and Barkley on the list. What did you think about the other players?

I forgot about Jim Kelly. That whole Bills era was great. Even down to special teams (Steve Tasker). Gotta agree with Barkley, too, and the rest of the list is solid.

Teddy Ballgame, great choice ;D

JWLlll, very good list, before I looked at it my football mind took over, LOL and I thought of the old timers first, like YA, Fran "the Man", Barry Sanders, Kelly, Marino and then basketball, Pete Mariavich, Barkley, "the Pearl", and Bob McAdoo the old Buffalo Braves, I don't think he ever got one.

Anyway, you had all but 2 on your list or honorable mention. VG list.

Earl Monroe won a title with the Knicks in 73 and McAdoo won two with the Lakers in the 80s.

I wonder, does Chris Carter have a spot on the list? Maybe not as a top 10, but somewhere down the line maybe top 25.

Don Mattingly comes to mind. Nine gold gloves. The 1985 MVP. Mattingly was truly one of the best of all time at his position.

Stickman...I agree with you, Chris Carter certainly belongs on the list.

Soxdynasty,

I have Mattingly in my honorable mention list.

dan the man for sure

Football-wise its Marino and Kelly

Sanders gets a good nod too, but he was doomed with Detroit from the start, made him lose his passion for the game.

Lord Knows you have to add T-Mac to this list

As a T-Mac and Rockets fan, I really want him to get it

He should work on getting out of the first round before anything else.

Champ Bailey doesn't have one either

Marino...with that unreal career individual performance

brian dawkins, donovan mcnabb, biran westbrook, allen iverson

I'd say A.I, but the other 3, only one will make the HOF (Dawkins). Like Reggie as the honorable mention.

on basketball, you have to look at KG, paul pierce and ray allen...

... oh wait...

haha really funny kgoon. It is a shame though Allen Iverson didnt win 1. When he was with the sixers he busted his a** every night. Its too bad
