Back Home

I just got back from Hawaii this afternoon. It was a great time. I got a lot of work done in those 10 days. I worked out everyday but 1, my workouts were split between riding the bike for 13 miles and having a basketball workout for an hour. I also got to go enjoy the island of Kona. I went on a helicopter ride of the island. I never been snorkeling before but by the time i left I went 5 times and felt like i've been doing it for years. I also went to some really good restaurants. "Tommy Bahamas" became my favorite spot. I just thank our owner Mr. Allen, my coaches, and everyone who helped set that up. It is a beautiful island and the wind is crazy, and so are the hills and mountains.

Greg-
Off subject, but we really missed you this winter in Columbus. Still a quality program, but your shoes were the biggest to fill. And there wasn't a single person at the Olentangy River Road Target that I could see three departments away.
Get healthy...and here's to a big 08-09.

Greg -
What are your plans for the summer?

Hey Man,
You should take your family on a trip come out to northern Arizona and see the Grand Canyon =)
Let me know when your coming down and I'll give ya a guided tour .... plus if you stay in Flagstaff you could get some high altitude training in the pool at 7000 feet.
Glad you had fun in Hawaii ... enjoy your vacation cause next season will come faster then you think.
Aloha,

Thats cool man. I wish i had a chance to go to Hawaii

just thought i'd throw these out and see what sticks for monikers for you. Greg "the new breed" Oden. some others might be destroyer, wrecking ball, the hammer (odin, mythology link), greg "the apocalypse" oden. Looking forward to seeing you help bring Portland many titles in the future.

Greg, I just saw Obama in Eugene and when I shook his hand I told him he better not try to scrimmage you because you'd knock every shot he took out of bounds. He laughed and was on his way.

Welcome back Greg...
So did you really *hate* biking or is that just a vicious rumor? Was listenin' to the Blazers podcast and your biking buddy made it sound like you ain't too fond of the bike...any truth to that or is he just mad you whipped him?

Greg,
Welcome back. I hope you get a chance to spend some of your summer in Oregon. Our summers are spectacular. Weeks of sunshine in a row. Warm temperatures. Low humidity. Go to the Deschutes River for white water rafting. There are many outfitters that operate out of Maupin. Take a canoe or kayak day trip on the Clackamas or Willamette Rivers. Explore the Columbia River Gorge. There is a nice hike that takes you above Multnomah Falls and back on a loop. Go fishing. Kick back on the Oregon Coast and feast on Dungeness crabs, smoked fish, or other local seafood. Visit the Oregon Dunes. Check out Crater Lake. For a change of pace, visit Ashland and see some of the theatre productions. Enjoy!

Yo G! Thats cool you enjoyed hawaii. I think Kona is a town though and Pepper is a sublime-like band from Kona town and their CDs are really good.. you should check them out. P.S. we really look forward to the rebirth of Rip City next year. We all have high expectations but we know you and the boys can meet those expectations so we have no worries and neither should you buddy. P-town for life!! Go Blazers!!!

I thought Tommy Bahama was a clothing company. Glad your back here to enjoy the rainy days just before the summer. Keep working hard, we are all waiting for next season. Watch us get a top 3 pick this year.

If you ever need a someone to rebound for you when you are shooting hoops in Portland, hit me up! im your man

Sounds like the climate in Hawaii agreed with you. That 13 miles of Bike riding is really going to help strengthen your legs. Now that your back in Portland maybe we'll get some sunny weather. Welcome home big man.

Welcome back Greg. Thanks for bringing the sunshine and warm weather with you.

Say the blazers get the thirteenth pick. who should we get?

damn greg you see any fine chicks well you lucky anywey when the draft comes up you should give your prediction, good luck greg dont be a bust lol jk.

Where did you get back to? Oregon or Ohio?

Hey Greg-
I grew up in Portland, but I now live in Seattle. Since the Sonics are leaving (or so it seems) I am getting all these folks to jump on the Blazer bandwagon. They are into it! We are so stoked for next season. Cheers Greg,

Hey Mr. Oden! It's your companion in gimpiness again. Since I cant work and have to sit around looking at the internet, I found this poll you may be interested in learning the results of on RealGM.com. You know who I voted for, hope this makes your day!

Which player would you select with the first overall pick if the 2007 draft was held today?

Oden 53%
Durant 24%
Horford 23%
Total Votes: 1181

BTW, just saw the nickname post above. Someone with the same last name of the God of War (also wisdom and death) should not get a nickname. Its true native spelling was actually Oden (and before that Woden), not Odin, which it developed into just as old english developed into modern english. He is also attested to as the God of victory! So, no nickname, this is like giving someone whose last name is dudemeister a nickname. Why would you do that???

Dear Gred Oden,
Did you know you've been on yardbarker for one year now?
And, looking back...how do feel being removed from playing (professional) basketball for one year now and all of the media attention (buzz)?
How do you feel about being in a different draft class (08-09)?
Thanks,
Evan

Hawaii is nice...I went back when I was in high school. I heard Ilana was visting you...tell ha I said what's up?

haha you guys might want to exchange numbers or something. I'll definitely trade numbers too. I've had a blast watching you in the playoffs Rajon, Good luck the rest of the way.

Just an FYI... Kona is not an island, it's a city/town/metro area on the island of Hawai'i, which is also known as "The Big Island."
I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Hawai'i and look forward to seeing you play next season.

hey greg your opinion on lebron leaving a 10 dollar tip on a 800 dollar meal, and keeping the restuarant open until 3:45 am
I knew how to tip when i was 23, do you make excuses for him or give him a pass for being cheap

Greg, Not to nitpick too much, but Kona is a city on southwest part of the "Big Island" of Hawaii. This island has the same name as the state.
