Celtics free agent James Posey signed a four-year deal with New Orleans today, according to his agent Mark Bartelstien.
It looks like the Hornets blinked first and offered Posey the 4th year that he wanted. This is a huge loss for the Celtics and he will be very hard to replace, especially with the tip free agents already signed. I think it was a huge mistake to allow Posey to get away. This may be the move that costs them a second championship. When you have chemistry like this team had, it is a huge mistake to nickel and dime the players who got you there. With Posey gone, the Celtics have their full MLE to split between players or use to sign one player. Hopefully they now redouble their effort to resign House or he will be gone too. I can't help but feel that Danny just made a huge mistake and he gave the Hornets the player they needed to get them over the top. It sure is going to be tough watching Posey give hugs to the Hornets during the finals next year.
