Marcus Camby Traded To LA Clippers

I really don't understand the move, but what I think is that the Clips should be pretty good next year.

Denver has officially lost their mind. Letting Camby go and at the same time keeping Karl who is King Of The No Defense? PLEASE. Someone let me know when this team becomes for sale because clearly they don't know what to do with it and should sell it to more knowledgable and empassioned people.

From a Clipper perspective, I feel pretty "eh" about this trade. Don't get me wrong - a 2nd round pick for Camby straight up is a steal. But for the Clippers? They need someone to replace Elton Brand's offense, and I'm not sure Camby can do that - OK, fine, I know Camby can't do that. Still, those 3.61 blocks per game are nice, as well as the 13 rebounds per game - maybe Camby's presence will allow Kaman's game to open up a bit more, and he can build on last season. I guess we'll see. Interesting move here.

Reason I think it will be very good is cuz of Al Thorton and Kaman with Brand.

I'd like ti noted that I've been saying for 2 yrs now that Marcus Camby is one bad-ass dude and a very underutilized player whose talent is just being WASTED in Denver. The Nuggets give up their D(3-peat leader in blocks) and the Clippers give up their cap space for a 34 yr old whose contract isn't even expiring(2 years left).....Makes no sense to me! This is why it's a celebration for them to get a playoff logo in their arena. I guess the Clippers realized they either weren't getting Iguodala or they were going to overspend on him. I guess Baron Davis is happy he's going to have to jack up shots like he's accustomed to.

Well, for starters I'm going to start calling Denver "The End Is Near" Nuggets.... cuz with that trade they just certainly pushed themselves RIGHT OUTTA CONTENTION for the Playoffs this season.

Second of all, what the HELL does an "Option to exchange for a 2010 Draft pick" mean? I (rhetorically) asked my roommate and said that it sounded like "Hey, if he works out, you can have the pick ... if not, we keep the pick and we're givin him back." LOL. It's like a dress that you try on, wear to a couple of parties, leave the tags on and when you're tired of it, you just go "Here, take it back .. this really doesn't work for me anymore." WTF! LOL

Lastly, I'm going to guess they're not chasing down Iggy anymore since they just picked up Camby for the price of a cheeseburger and a rookie exchange. I'm a little sad but I've said for about 2 yrs that Marcus Camby is a bad ass dude and looks like he could be the second coming of Rasheed Wallace/Tyson Chandler (who I call Mini-Sheed) .... Give the boy a little more time on the court (which it appears the Clippers are aligning themselves to DO) and he will bring it LOUD. All were paid UNDER $2m last yr which is what the Clips have left. Umm, hate to sound like a dick, but most of your points aren't correct. Camby's not the second coming of Sheed, nowhere near the offensive game - and Chandler's not even close as well, he's more like Camby. Cam should get double digits in boards, hit the occasional jumper, and protect the rim. Will be interesting to see how he adapts to the 4 spot and playing with another true center.

The $2 million left over doesn't buy much. All the players you mentioned will cost way more than that except for Skinner, reddick, and possibly 'Buke.

If you're already an awful defensive team, why would you go and trade your best defender for nothing promising? A future second rounder...!? Seriously? Camby is worth so much more.
