Sonics Officially Ripped Away from Seattle, and Nobody Seems to Care

The Saga in Seattle is over, and the Kevin Durants (a temporary name, I would assume) are on their way to Oklahoma, ending an era in a great basketball city. The NBA still doesn't care.

Believe it or not, people in Portland are a little bummed about it. Seattle was our b-ball rival and we wanted to watch Oden/Portland vs. Durant/Seattle for years to come.

I was SO looking forward to that rivaly for the next few years..................very sad but enough is enough

Just for the record, when I say "nobody", I mean nobody that could have actually prevented it.

Just come on over the the Blazers Bandwagon until you can get the franchise up and running again. You should all put the money together and put a hit out on Clay Bennett.

I'm already affiliated with the Bulls, but if I wasn't, the Blazers would be my team. Kevin Pritchard is the man.

Are you on the payroll, keegan?

I wish

ummmmm......

The Bulls used to be my team, until Krause dismantled it. This is a stab in the heart, a heart of 41 years. This isn't the Hornets moving from Charlotte on 10 years of history to New Orleans, or Vancouver moving to Memphis on 6 years of history. No, this is a team, with a title, and a few conference titles, being ripped away from a basketball Pantheon. I'm no longer an NBA fan.

Xavier McDaniel cares and he'll be taking this into his own hands. Just like when he choked Lakers guard Wes Matthews. Watch your back, David Stern, the X-Man has you in his sights.

I loved Xman and Detlef!

i just feel sorry for the city, the team was just starting to get a little better, in a few years fans in ok city will be sittting in your seats enjoying themselves

Screw the NBA! This move is uncalled for. I'm a Houston Rockets fan but why the heck they do this? Things were fine?!

This is so unfortunate. I really feel for you Seattle fans.

When sport becomes a business the only losers are the fans. It's not about 'the game', it's about 'the product'. Anytime something gets popular for its simple enjoyment some money men come along, screw every last cent out of it then move on when they've killed the golden goose.

I'm real sorry for Seattle and the Sonics fans :-(

Sad day for the people of Seattle. Were they not drawing fans in Seattle?

They weren't building a new arena.

I see. That's too bad. I just don't know if OKC will be able to support a team.
