Lito to Miami?

Alrite, so i am from Miami but i am an Eagles fan. Last night on a show called Sports Xtra they brought up a good topic. Would Miami be interested in Lito Sheppard. On the show every sunday, the highly known, and hated by many, Drew Rosenhaus. He claims miami has no #1 corner opposite of Jason Allen. He claims a good possibility is Philly, in need of a pass rusher, who would trade Lito Sheppard for Jason Taylor straight up. Now he claims this is a good possibility with Taylor on the way out of Miami and Philly trying to do somehting with Sheppard. What would you all think of this trade??

taylor is old and our d line is stacked

yeah what would/could philly get out of this?

taylor not being an option

horrible trade and philly wouldnt do it

Jason Taylor probably would help us more THIS year, but the deal is not worth it at all.

No way we already have a stacked defensee.e Why not keep the stacked secondary too???? not happenin EVER

They have absolutely NOTHING to give us except the 1st pick in next years draft and we sure as hell don't need a DE...especially not a ballerina

true! taylor, call ya boy emmitt and take notes! it's only acceptable to make a fool of yourself, trade your uniform for a COSTUME, and have your orientation called into question if you WIN the competition. what a chump. definitely NOT philly material.

Lito in our secondary is worth a lot more than Taylor on our line...

Can Taylor play corner???? than .... NO ! ! ! ! !

I've been waiting MONTHS for this rumor to start. Why would anyone think that Jason Allen has the other corner spot? As a Dolphin fan I'd make the trade. I don't understand why everyone's so down on Taylor. He is THAT good and his play hasn't slipped with age. When he gets a fumble recovery or interception it's to the house every time. Then there's all the attention he gets, the pressures, sacks, he plays two positions. Oh that's right no one actually watches Dolphins games...

Great for Miami...horrible for Philly. You have nothing to give us...Taylor is 33 and probably only has 2-3 years left. So unless you're throwing a decent draft pick in with that...forget about it.

I hate Drew Rosenhaus. He gets results, but he does it all the wrong way. This post just proves that he has no clue when it comes to the Eagles Front office. T.O. was not a fluke, he was being advised by an idiot. There is no way Philly does this at all, none

This would be a great trade for miami but i don't think the eagles would benifit from it cuz Jason Taylor is old and the eagles have a bunch of young talented DE on the roster already. I only see this deal working if miami would throw in a first or second round pick and a later round pick like a 4th or 5th round pick. this mite sound like a lot but look at what miami would get with lito who is about four or five years younger than taylor.

Who is coming up with sh!!!!t--the eagles are stack at end--The eagles needs a proven wide recve--the defense is set--on paper---anybody in their right mind would make a trade lik that--period!!!!!the eagles are not the oakland raiders--taylor is done!!!!

It would be a great deal for Miami, not great at all for us. We'd have to be crazy to make that trade. We already traded Miami for Booker, let's leave it at that.

P.S. Drew Rosenhaus is a jackass. Don't ever entertain anything he says.

Yeah, Philly might be trying to do something with Lito, but they are not trying to give him away. They could have had a 2nd rd pick. I think they would want that more than the aging Taylor (I know I would). Plus miami is basically trying to give taylor away. That's a fantasy to believe they would be able to get that good of a return for someone they are trying to give away. Unless if Lito is getting traded for a top WR, then I rather see Lito stay and complete what would be the best secondary in the NFL.

we dont need d end as bad as an offensive playmaker

It would depend on what's going on behind the scenes. If Lito will play hard and act like a professional (which I think he will), the Birds should keep him. If the Eagles have decided to trade him, I could think of worse things to get than Taylor.

No way. That deal makes no sense at all. Why would the Eagles give up a pro bowl corner for a guy who may have 1 or 2 more years leaft at best. It will never happen.

That would be a stupid stupid move! we have the best secondary in the whole leage and on top of that i d-line is bad ass! i couldnt happen andy isnt an idot!

Are you people crazy? Stacked at D end? Uhh... who besides Trent Cole has proven themselves to be a legit NFL pass rusher? Please try to remember the Taylor was Defensive player of the year in 06. Taylor would be the best player on the Defense if he got traded to Philly. He still had double digit sacks last year. Taylor playing every down would be a lot better than having Lito at the nickel spot. This is all moot because it would never happen but some of you have no idea what you are talking about.

uhhh Juqua is proven, Clemons is a proven 3rd down specialist, and anybody who knows anything about the Eagles knows Abiamiri is having a tremendous offseason and they expect big things from him in his 2nd season. Add in Cole and right thers 4 guys they have invested a great deal into...they're not going anywhere. They just drafted Smith in the 3rd round...I'd think they're pretty high on him. That leaves only 1 potential DE spot on the team and sadly enough it belongs to D Howard for 2 reason. 1: they owe him too much $ to cut him 2. he can play both DE and DT which adds some value. Jason Taylor would only be here for a year or 2...why the hell would they want a rental player on the downside of his career? Thanks but not thanks. sound like you have no idea what you are talking about now doesn't it?

taylor is old and i don't think it would ever hapen

LOL at Drew Rosenhaus, I actually like him, but Jason Allen plays FS for us. Our #1 CB is Will Allen. He makes a valid point though. That trade won't happen though because both teams will feel they should receive a draft pick along with the player. Plus, it would have happened by now. If the Dolphins felt CB was a need, they had plenty of draft picks to select one.

juan92688......... u just joined yesterday, just to post this b.s story
did any1 else see this bogus *rumor* that juan made up on tv? cuz i didnt
hes just like the other nolifers that try to get philly fans hopes up because every1 is intimidated by us.

I've heard this rumor for a while now, even Chris Mortenson has talked about it. I don't think it's true but it's not just this one poster who created the rumor.

Can Taylor catch the ball?

I would not do it unless they threw in ted Ginn Jr.

Why would you guys want Teddy Ginn? You just drafted Desean Jackson didn'y you? They are about the same player at this point in time.

really, is WR the only position these people know???

yea no reason for ANOTHER miniature reciever. We have enough of those and Desaun should be fine with punt returns...Why would we want to hamper Desauns development by getting the same "style" reciever when obviously we drafted the better of the two. Well that remains to be seen but I think he'll end up being the better of the 2.

When Jason Taylor first said he wanted a trade out of Miami I thought to myself, "Man wouldn't it be great to have J-Taylor on our D-line?" I mean he's up there in age, but he just won the defensive player of the year award in 2006. So he can't be that old.

But the more I think about it the more I am beginning to change my mind. I have come to the conclusion that the winner of that trade would be the Dolphins and not the Eagles. For starters the birds already have a stacked D-line and Jason Taylor would on improve it slightly. And how long would J-Taylor stay in the NFL? I think it is safe to say that the Dolphins would have a pro-bowl cornerback in lito longer then we'll have their pro-bowl d-end.

And the more I am thinking about it the more I beginning to think perhaps we should just hold onto Lito. I mean with all the top receivers in the NFC East like T.O., Plaxico Burress and the endless top receivers that the skins go after season every season in free agency, we may just need three pro bowl corners to counter the attack by the NFC easts offenses.

That doesn't mean that I am against a Lito trade. But the only trade that I would be for would be one that would help the offense. If we trade Sheppard for a number one receiver or trade for a number one draft pick which we could package in a trade for a top-flight receiver. Then and only then I say we make the trade.

What a bunch of turd nuggets Philly fans are. Are you ignorant or just stupid in Philly? You want a 1st round pick. Dude, you couldnt even get a guy in the draft that would make an immediate impact on your pathetic pas rush D in Philly, that Taylor could infuse right off the bat. You think you need something more then JT, like our 1st round pick. RETARDED! JT gives you 2-3 seasons of a great pass rushing DE, that you couldnt even get in the draft. If that aint worth Lito, you just plain ignorant.
