How cool is this?  Here’s video of a kayaker in the ocean off Redondo Beach, Calif. Suddenly a massive blue whale starts swimming alongside him.

The kayaker, Rick Coleman, was wearing a camera on his helmet. He captured some amazing shots above and below the water.

A blue whale is the largest animal on Earth. They can be up to 100 feet long and weigh as much as 200 tons. In fact, their tongues weigh as much as an elephant. They live off of krill, which is a little like shrimp. They can live as long as 90 years.

Up to 25,0000 blue whales swim in the world’s oceans. They’re an endangered species.

By the way, the kayaker offered some words of advice on his YouTube channel.
