OK, so it’s a little ahead of an official 10th anniversary. And, no, this has not much to do with anything. But I stumbled upon some hockey fight countdowns recently and landed on one particular clip from legendary enforcer Rob Ray. The “Rayzor” spent the better part of his career in Buffalo pounding opponents as a member of the Sabres and racking up enough penalty minutes to rank among the top 10 in NHL history. This ones a bit unique, though.
Those across the NHL knew that crossing Ray often meant a flurry of fists. On this night in April of 1992, a drunken Nordiques fan learned the same first-hand. Who needs security when you’ve got the ultimate enforcer on your visitors bench? A few notables from this outstanding video:
