The Basketball Academy, presented by State Farm, is being moved from Coppin State University to Morgan State University.  The event will still be held this weekend, January 26-28, 2012.

The academic component on Thursday, January 26 and Friday, January 27 will be held at Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School located at 3500 Hillen Road, Baltimore, MD.  The games will be held January 26-28 at Hill Field House, on the campus of Morgan State University, located at 1700 East Cold Spring Lane, Baltimore, MD.

Any tickets previously purchased will be honored. Tickets for the Basketball Academy cost $10 per day. Children under five years old are admitted free. Tickets will be available at Morgan State University one hour prior to the start of the first game. Advanced tickets can be purchased at participating schools or by calling 410-396-8569.

About the Basketball Academy

The Academy is a 501(c) 3 organization that aims to prepare students for the SAT and the college admissions process, while exposing middle and high school players to competitive basketball teams from Baltimore City, Baltimore, Harford and Prince George’s counties. Basketball Academy “graduates” include several NBA and NCAA division 1 players such as Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies), Josh Selby (Memphis Grizzlies), Will Barton (University of Memphis), Roscoe Smith (University of Connecticut), Asia Logan (University of Pittsburgh) and LaShay Taft (Syracuse).
