My 2013 fantasy football top five quarterbacks are:
1) Aaron Rodgers
Consistency is key for Rodgers Finished second in fantasy points per game in 2012 (26.2) Averaged over 4,400 passing yards, 42 TDs, 7 INTs past two seasons Was sacked a league-high 51 times No Greg Jennings - no problem - Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and James Jones will step up in the passing game 2) Drew Brees
Led all quarterbacks in fantasy points in 2012 (26.9 FPPG) Threw 19 interceptions last season - second-most in career for single-season He'll be good for 5,000 passing yards and 40 touchdowns in 2013 Sean Payton returns - helps create stability in Saints' offense 3) Peyton Manning
Finished 4th in scoring among fantasy quarterbacks (23.9 FPPG) Had more touchdowns and fewer interceptions than final full season in Indianapolis (37 / 11 vs. 33 / 17) Remember Manning made chicken soup out of chicken droppings with Colts' slot receivers (remember Blair White, Austin Collie) - this opens the door for Wes Welker to have monster year 4) Colin Kaepernick
Finished with 1,800 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and averaged 6.6 yards per rush with five touchdowns last season Lost Michael Crabtree, but did start to gel with Vernon Davis in the final two games of the playoffs Anquan Boldin becomes security blanket in passing game 5) Matt Ryan
Finished 5th in scoring quarterbacks (24.1 FPPG) Two of his wide receivers finished in the Top 10 in scoring Tony Gonzalez finished third in fantasy scoring among tight ends In our first mock draft, Ryan fell to the sixth round. Will be overlooked in favor of Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson and, perhaps, RG3.
BEST OF MAXIM
Brett Favre (Photo Credit: AP)
Almost five years ago, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time was traded to the New York Jets. The divorce between Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers has been well documented. The Packers had Aaron Rodgers as the future of the franchise and were tired of Favre’s constant indecision about retirement. In 2007, Favre and the Packers had...
AND A-RODG AIN'T HAPPY
The sports world was all over the news out of Massachusetts yesterday regarding Aaron Hernandez. The Patriots TE was finally arrested early in the morning, then he was released by the team less than an hour later. Finally, in the afternoon it was revealed Hernandez would be charged with murder and not merely obstruction of justice as had been previously conjectured. NFL stars...
And I don't mean a "Killer of Vikings fans hopes and dreams" or anything like that, I mean a real life, shooty-shooty, stabby-stabby (not like THAT kind of stabbing though ... I don't think), kill kill kill, kind of murderer.
At least according to Jeremy Schaap and ESPN.
ESPN said - ON AIR - in a recent interview, that Aaron Rodgers was likely tied...
Former Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop said he ultimately decided to sign with the Vikings so he had the opportunity to play against Aaron Rodgers.
2013 Fantasy Football QB Projections Aaron Rodgers Projection: 419 points Aaron Rodgers is my clear-cut #1 Fantasy QB. He doesn’t march up and down the field and accumulate gaudy yardage numbers to the same degree that his elite QB brethren do, but his unparalleled propensity to combine tons of TDs with very few [...]
Live TV is harder than it looks.
It is even harder when you dealing with a serious issue like a NFL player being charged with 1st degree murder, so cut Jeremy Schapp a little slack here in this video provided by The Big Lead.
Aaron Rodgers was not amused.
Not funny ESPN

Some of the biggest news in the NFL in a long time came Wednesday that former New England tight end Aaron Hernandez was being charged with first degree murder eleven. While coving Hernandez’s arraignment, ESPN’s Jeremy Schaap, made a crucial error and confused Hernandez with current Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. “Certainly based on what we heard there is a...
The Green Bay Packers are in a wonderful place in the cycle of sports: they get to be in “win now” mode for the foreseeable future, and can expect to be reaching for the brass ring every year as long as they have Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy at the helm. That doesn’t mean they don’t have questions to answer in training camp, though. These are the things the Packers will...
Aaron Hernandez and Aaron Rodgers have very few things in common, but obviously their first name is one of them. Given the fact that Hernandez has been arrested and charged with murder, you can understand why Rodgers would not want to be associated with him an any way. Unfortunately, a slip of the tongue from [...]
Former Green Bay Packers-turned-Minnesota Vikings linebacker Desmond Bishop is excited to be facing Aaron Rodgers twice a year.
So, have you heard the news about former Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez, who’s in all sorts of trouble now that he’s been a) charged with murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, b) cut by New England following his arrest, and c) is now being investigated for a double homicide in Boston last year? Yeah, to say things aren’t looking so rosy for Aaron Hernandez would be an epic misfire...
A second possible suspect was arrested in the Odin Lloyd murder investigation. It continues to come as a shock to Jeremy Schaap that Aaron Rodgers isn’t a person of interest.
– Now former teammates are starting to roll over on Aaron Hernandez. Matt Light told the media that he never embraced or believed in anything that Hernandez stood for, which probably has more to do with...
Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins can only hope that the beginning of his career can rival Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers like Cousins had to sit and wait his turn. The only problem for Cousins’ is that when he finally gets his shot, it will probably be with another team.
Cousins was drafted behind Robert Griffin III for insurance purposes, and possible trade value later....
