The Cleveland Browns entered this year’s free agency period with the second largest amount of money to spend under the salary cap, and the Browns wasted little time while spending some of that money. While many thought that a few key offensive players would be on the Browns radar, Cleveland focused on the defensive side of the ball, inking deals with two key defenders. The first player the Browns signed was Baltimore Ravens LB Paul Kruger. This was a major signing for the Browns for two reasons. First, the Browns are moving back to a 3-4 defensive alignment and Kruger is a prime pass rushing specialist from the outside in that alignment. Second, Cleveland gets to raid the roster of a divisional foe, a player familiar with playing against all the offensive fronts in the AFC North. Cleveland then moved to the defensive line, signing Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Desmond Bryant.
