Alex Steen has been awesome since coming to the Blues in the Lee Stempniak deal a few years ago. The former first rounder is really playing well and could be considered, with Backes, as another Selke candidate. Steen is a +20 right now which ranks among some of the best in the NHL. Unfortunately, he is out right now with concussion like symptoms. This could really kill the Blues, but their depth has picked them up all season long but at what point do you finally get a little discouraged at all your star players getting knocked out with injuries.
Steen, before the injury, had been tearing up the ice and was on pace for a career season. In 36 games, Steen had 24 points which was good for 2nd on the Blues in points and was set to break his career high mark of 24 goals and 51 points in a season. Both of those career highs came with the Blues, goals in 09-10, and the career high in points came in the following season. Hopefully this head injury does not keep Steen out of the lineu...
