In a wild game that featured 24 points in the final nine minutes of regulation and two missed field goals in overtime, the 49ers and Rams tied, 24-24, today at Candlestick Park.
St. Louis appeared to have all but won when quarterback Sam Bradford connected with wideout Danny Amendola on a 80-yard pass down to San Franciscos two-yard line on the first play of overtime but the apparent game-winner, however, was called back on an illegal-formation penalty.
Similarly, San Francisco blew its chance to win in overtime after the Rams opening drive ended in a punt, but David Akers 41-yard field-goal attempt sailed wide left.
On St. Louis next drive, rookie Greg Zuerleins 58-yard attempt sailed wide right after a delay-of-game penalty wiped out his apparent 53-yard, game-winner on the previous play.
It was the first tie in the NFL since Nov. 16, 2008, when the Eagles and Bengals finished knotted at 13-13. Source: San Francisco Chronicle Attached Thumbnails

Danny Amendola's first game in a month for the St. Louis Rams was a huge success. And that's without the 142 yards on a pair of big plays that were nullified by penalty.
A day after repeated mistakes cost the Rams an upset at San Francisco, the wide receiver said he'd try to take the positives out the NFL's first tie game in four years.

St. Louis Rams announced that cornerback Janoris Jenkins and wide receiver Chris Givens are inactive for Sunday's game against the host San Francisco 49ers because they violated team rules. The Rams did not specify what rules the rookies broke. Jenkins, a second round draft pick in the June draft, had started all eight previous games for St. Louis this year. Givens, who...
The St. Louis Rams have listed wide receiver Danny Amendola as questionable for Sundays game at San Francisco but the spark plug to the offense is adamant he will be on the field.

Yesterday, the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Rams game ended in a 24-24 tie, the first since 2008.
While most NFL fans knew the possibility that the game could end in a tie, it appears that 49ers safety Dashon Goldson and Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola weren't aware of that fact:
“I didn’t know you could tie,” Goldson said, per Cam Inman. “When I saw...
Quarterbacks are dropping like flies on Sunday.
First Michael Vick was ruled out of the Cowboys-Eagles game with a concussion, and now the same has happened to 49ers’ signal caller Alex Smith. Smith was scrambling when he took a vicious blow from Rams’ linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar.
The 49ers could struggle without Smith after building their offense around him. Second-year player...

Randy Moss‘ comeback to the NFL via the San Francisco 49ers hasn’t yielded the mind-boggling numbers that Moss put up during his heyday in Minnesota and New England. So far this season, Moss has 13 receptions for 235 yards and two touchdowns for the 6-2 Niners.
But regardless of his play, Moss has never been afraid to speak his mind. On Sunday, Moss took part in an interview...
Running back Frank Gore was clearly aching after the 49ers' 24-24 tie against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Gore, who sustained bruised ribs Oct. 18 against the Seattle Seahawks, underwent X-rays after the game. He was getting around gingerly as he got dressed at his locker, about an hour after the game.
"Just sore," he said, speaking slowly and in obvious discomfort...
