When you consider yourself a film buff, it opens you up to criticism when people uncover a great or popular film that you’ve never seen. This, despite the fact that you’ve seen thousands of films and know lots of information about ones you haven’t. So I am preparing for some shocked responses when I admit that I watched the original Karate Kid for the first time over the weekend.
