Now that the NBA Lockout has come to a welcomed conclusion, the teams are now able to make free agency moves and sign their draft picks.

With $54,117,266 locked up on nine players and two restricted free agents (Thaddeus Young, Spencer Hawes) , the Philadelphia 76ers don’t have much room to work with in the free agency market, so the only moves they would make would come from trades most likely, unless they use the middle-level exception to sign a free agent.

But first thing first, the 76ers will have to lock up their first-round selection, Nikola Vucevic.

The 7’0” former USC center will provide the Sixers with an interior force and as long as he keeps working on his mid-range jump shot, he will also be able to work away from the basket. Like many foreign-born big men, Vucevic isn’t afraid to step behind the arc and let one fly – in fact, he made 11 straight three-point shots at one point in his career at USC.

After playing eight games for Budućnost VOLI in the ADRIATIC league this fall, Vucevic averaged 17.4 points and 10.4 rebounds. If he can bring that talent over to Philadelphia, the Sixers may just have found the one thing they’ve been lacking: a productive, young big man.
