Yovani Gallardo Looks Sharp In Brewers 4-0 Win At Atlanta
Yovani Gallardo looked sharp yesterday in Atlanta as he gave up only two hits over eight scoreless innings to help the Brewers to a 4-0 win over Atlanta. Gallardo has been touted by many as the guy who needs to step up and be the no. 1 starter for the Brewers and in my opinion [...]
Protecting their asset
At age 23, Yovani Gallardo already is a special major-league pitcher, and the Brewers intend to keep him that way. With that in mind, manager Ken Macha pulled the plug on Gallardo after eight innings and 110 pitches Friday night, allowing Carlos Villanueva to finish the Brewers' victory over the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.

Villanueva streaks along

Gallardo, Brewers blank Braves 4-0
Yovani Gallardo and Carlos Villanueva combined for a two-hit shutout, rookie Mat Gamel drove in three runs and the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers beat the Atlanta Braves 4-0 on Friday night.
Hall running out of time

"His at-bats and what he has done over the last month, we're down to the end there where other options are going to have to be explored," manager Ken Macha said Thursday before the Brewers took on Florida in the finale of the four-game series.
Full count: No inheritance tax
The Brewers' bullpen has been solid for the most part, especially since closer Trevor Hoffman came off the disabled list in late April. Relievers have been particularly impressive in stranding inherited runners:
