Its been longer than I had planned since my 4A Boys Cross Country Preview (read it here) but I am finally back, this time with my preview for the 3A boys.
In 3A, the competition should be just as fierce, if not fiercer, compared to its 4A counterpart. Many talented runners will take the course when state rolls around on November 7 in Pasco, WA. Some will be vying for the individual title, others will be fighting for their team, and others will simply be having the race of their lives.
Regardless, it will take not only talent but years of training as well as toughness in order to succeed. Read my 3A Boys Cross Country Preview after the break.
As usual, North Central is the favorite to win the boys title as they seek to win their fourth in a row. Last year’s state and national champions return three varsity runners from their dominating squad last year, and they should reload as usual. Other teams that look to do well include Mount Spokane, Bellevue, Lindbergh and Seattle Prep.
On the individual side, things should be very interesting as there are no clear favorites. Right now, I would say the front runners include North Central’s Ben Johnston, Lindberg’s Trevor Thompson and Seattle Prep’s Drew O’Donoghue-McDonald. Among the many other possibilities include Kyle Boe, Joe Ambo, Abraham Behre and Allan Schroeder.
