Chargers running back Curtis Brinkley was hospitalized after being shot in his car while at home in Philadelphia. Police reported the shooting took place around midnight  while Brinkley was driving in Cheltenham in Montgomery  County, north of Philadelphia. Police stated that the  gunman had fled into a getaway car and did not uncover a  motive for the shooting. Cutris is in stable condition in the intensive care unit at  Albert Einstein Medical Center.  Curtis’s Uncle, Gregory  Brinkley, said that Curtis has been able to talk and communicate with his relatives. Brinkley, who rushed for 1,164 yards and 7 touchdowns in  his last season at Syracuse, was signed by San Diego as a free agent after the 2009 NFL draft. All of us over at Bolt Beat  keep Curtis and his family in our thoughts and prayers. We hope for a full, speedy recovery and can’t wait to see Brinkley shred some yards on the field! Information from The Associated Press and ESPN Sports was used in this post.
