Who is Brian Vickers' girlfriend? Vickers answered that question in a very public way on July 11 at Chicagoland Speedway when he invited SPEED TV motocross reporter Erin Bates to stand with him on the grid prior to the start of the Lifelock.com 400. The two have been photographed together at various events and, not to get all grandma on you, they make a cute couple. He is 25. She is 31. Usually a six-year age differential swings the other way for pro athletes, so props to Vickers for going against the grain.

Victory video: Brian Vickers is a fuel conservationist

Well, the CarFax 400 in Michigan was certainly a dramatic race, though watching cars try not to run out of gas may not be the kind of drama that can sustain NASCAR. But anyway, congrats to Brian Vickers for hanging on and taking the checkers on a day when everybody was just watching the ol' gas gauge:Shame for Junior Nation that Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn't run down Vickers...

NSCS Recap: Vickers Pulls Off Big Win At Michigan

BROOKLYN, Mich. (Aug. 16, 2009) — Polesitter Brian Vickers ran out of gas at the end of Sunday’s Carfax 400 at Michigan International Speedway. It’s a good thing it was on the way to Victory Lane. Jimmie Johnson wasn’t so lucky. Despite a concerted effort to save gas, the reigning and three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Johnson ran out of fuel with just over...

From the Couch: NASCAR, where crazy happens

What a wild weekend. It possessed the absurd, some requisite tragedy and a dramatic denouement. I liked Brian Vickers as the leading man, but Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, and Lisa Mayfield nailed their supporting roles. Moreover, it proved that Crazy still exists in NASCAR, and as the Chase takes shape, the circus will only get better. Kyle may be typecast, but he plays the stereotype...

Out of nowhere: Brad Keselowski wins CarFax 250 at Michigan & ESPN2 has all champions in booth.

Earlier today at Michigan International Speedway, there was a shack up going on in the ESPN TV Broadcast booth. Gone is the play by play announcer (sort of speck) and in is four NASCAR champions doing what I call a round table discussion while watching/covering the NASCAR Nationwide Series race.Speaking on the round table discussion in the TV booth for a moment, normally when I watch...

Parks Race Reactions: Carfax 400 at Michigan

When the Sprint Cup Series makes it's two trips to Michigan International Speedway, it doesn't come down to who has the fast car. In the end, it is about who has the most gas in the fuel cell to get it across the finish line. In this first edition of "Parks Race Reactions," I'm going to take a vivid view of the Carfax 400 at Michigan. First of all, I have got...

Jimmie Johnson dominated at Michigan, but once again, a sputtering fuel tank cost him the win. Brian Vickers took the victory when Johnson ran out of gas with three laps to go. Tony Stewart still leads the points as the Cup heads to Bristol.

On Type Delay: The Carfax 400 at MIS

This morning, I was awakened at 6:00 AM by the sound of engines and turbo chargers as classic cars, hot rods, street rods, and customized vehicles paraded down Colorado Avenue to enter the annual Good Times Auto Show. This open, just for fun, car show is an annual event that falls, intentionally, on the same weekend as the famous Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan. Our little show...
