We've all seen the games between the Cowboys over the last few years. They are usually close and there are usually big plays for both teams throughout the game. Last year's season finale was the obvious exception. But with the Eagles adding another play maker in Jeremy Maclin this season and the Cowboys discovering the talent of Miles Austin it seems like both teams are primed for a shootout. While that would be entertaining for fans who like scoring I think the Cowboys would be making a mistake by playing that type of game.I don't mean the Cowboys shouldn't run their offense. I think what they have been doing over the last month is exactly what they need to do in this game. Mix the pass and run, play safe at times and go for the big play in the right moments. The main thing is that the game has to remain relatively close or the Cowboys will be forced to open things up which could mean a shootout or it could mean disaster if Tony Romo isn't having one of his good...

  • Easier to say stop someone than it is to do it. Desean is a mismatch for almost every team in the league. Focus to much on him and some guy named Westbrook will eat you for lunch too.

McNabb to Wear a Flak Jacket the Rest of 09

Seems that QB Donovan McNabb’s rib isn’t going to be 100 percent for some time, and because of it, Fox Sports reports that the QB will wear a flak jacket for protection for the rest of the season. The rib that quarterback Donovan McNabb fractured in Week 1 still hasn’t completely [...]

Well-managed: Tony Romo handles Philadelphia

In his five previous starts against Philadelphia, Tony Romo has been anything but consistent. In his two wins, he had passer ratings of 141.7 and 123.2. In his three losses: 45.5, 22.2 and 55.8. It meant, he either he was improvising and making all kinds of plays happen or he was improvising and having all kinds of stuff fail. On Sunday, his rating of 88.7 would statistically...

Romo's interception string ends

PHILADELPHIA - Trailing 13-10 after Donovan McNabb's 11-yard TD pass to Brent Celek, the Cowboys did what they've done so often in big games under Wade Phillips - commit a turnover. This time, it was Eagles CB intercepting a Tony Romo pass that went behind Jason Witten. Romo had gone a career-high three games without an interception, a string that covered 144 attempts.

McNabb's streak ends

Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb had his streak of consecutive passes without an interception end at 118 in the first quarter. McNabb's throw glanced off the hands of rookie wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and was picked off by safety Gerald Sensabaugh. The Cowboys converted the takeaway into a touchdown, on a three-yard run by Tashard Choice. This marked the third consecutive...

First Big Test

Whether you've already penciled in Miles Austin for a Pro Bowl spot and the Cowboys' next franchise receiver, or you have more of a "wait-and-see" approach before anointing him into the Ring of Honor, we should find out a little more about No. 19 this weekend.

Cowboys Own NFC East In Win Over Eagles 20-16

Now the Dallas Cowboys can forget about last season's awful finish, Tony Romo threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Miles Austin midway through the...

Take Out Some Frustration On These Guys

For the second consecutive week, the Eagles will enter The Linc with first place on the line, except this contest is even bigger than the last. Not only would a victory over Dallas raise our collective spirit somewhat, the distance over the rest of the division would be about as commanding as single game can get.3-0 in the NFC East, with wins against all three rivals, is a stranglehold...

Is DeSean Jackson playing?

PHILADELPHIA - It's the 2-minute warning and explosive Eagles WR DeSean Jackson still doesn't have a catch. The reason is simple: He can't shake Cowboys CB Terence Newman. It also helps that the Dallas pass rush isn't giving Donovan McNabb much time to plant his feat and survey the field. Jackson entered the game with four TD receptions of 50-plus yards.

Cowboys even up turnovers for year

The interceptions by Mike Jenkins and Gerald Sensabaugh on Sunday offset the one interception thrown by Tony Romo and helped the Cowboys finally erase a turnover deficit that been with them for almost the entirety of the season. The Cowboys were at a -4 minor after the first two weeks of the season, but since then they've caused 11 turnovers and given the ball away just seven...

Giants Look to Fix Communication Problems

Over the last three games, the New York Giants' opponents have managed to expose nearly every weakness Big Blue has...especially on defense.  Whether it was Drew Brees, Kurt Warner, Donovan McNabb, or even LeSean McCoy, the Giants ended up looking confused, out of sorts and completely outmatched these last few weeks. The culprit to blame for these challenges currently facing...

Plenty of game balls to go around

PHILADELPHIA - The first one goes to Cowboys CB Terence Newman, who completely took DeSean Jackson out of the game. Jackson had only two catches for 29 yards after entering the game with four TD receptions of 50-plus yards. In a performance reminiscent of his shut-down job on Carolina's Steve Smith in Week 3, Newman made four tackles and broke up one pass. He did give up an...
