Redleg Nation:
Okay…it’s time for the Major League Pitching loss leaders…alphabetical leaders, that is.
Now think about it. It takes a special pitcher to accumulate high loss totals. The pitcher has to be great enough, or just good enough, to pitch a lot of years, or may be the pitcher is the best pitcher on a bad team. They may or may not have won more games than they lost….and some may have been excluded from the Hall of Fame because they couldn’t win pitching for a bad team.
Of the 25 letters available (no X players ever), three are from before 1900, which surprised me….I expected several more. If you guess the modern winner that counts, too.
Good luck!!
