TEAMS: New York Mets,  Chicago Cubs,  Washington Nationals,  Florida Marlins,  San Francisco Giants
PLAYERS: Nelson Figueroa,  Carlos Zambrano,  Ted Lilly,  Ryan Dempster,  Anderson Hernandez,  Aaron Heilman,  Elijah Dukes
Before the season started; these two teams with the highest payrolls in the NL were pegged as playoff locks on Sports Illustrated. Clearly however, both have failed miserably to live up to the hype. At least the Mets can blame it on a parade of injuries that have left the team totally decimated (yesterday's lineup currently makes a combined $11 million).
