Ospreys and Glasgow played out an uninspiring draw in the Magners League on Friday. The match ended 9-9 with not too much to write home about, except perhaps for this sickening blow between two team mates from the Welsh region. Filo Tiatia and Nikki Walker collided horribly in the first half as they both went in to make the tackle. Walker took the full brunt of it, as Tiatia flew into him head first.
Walker actually got the Ospreys stalwart’s forehead and shoulder smashing into him, so it’s no wonder he lay on the ground in la-la land for some time afterwards.
Former All Black Tiatia stayed on and looked a little shaken only, but Walker had to leave the field after being attended to.
"At fist we suspected a fractured cheekbone. Thankfully it wasn't that bad but he needed six stitches," said an Ospreys spokesman.
Despite the injury, Walker will join up with the Scotland squad on Monday and resume training ahead of their internationals. They play against Fiji at Murrayfield on Saturday.
