I had to work last night so I relied on my Blackberry to find out what was happening in Game 2 of the ALDS. When I checked it shortly after 9:00 PM the Yankees were trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the 8th. I checked again, shortly after 9:30 and it was tied at 3 in the bottom of the 11th. When I checked once again, a few minutes later it was over, a 4-3 final in favor of the Yankees.Right away I wondered who had provided the heroics. Who was the hero of the game? Who got the pie in the face? I couldn't search my phone for that info, lest I be written up or, perhaps, fired. So, I waited until I left the store and, on my way to the subway I checked, and began to think: Okay, so maybe I was wrong about Alex Rodriguez. Yes, Mark Teixeira got the pie in the face, but had it not been for Alex Rodriguez's game-tying homer in the ninth inning, AJ Burnett might not have gotten the opportunity to prepare his first postseason treat.Maybe I was wrong.
