According to The Urban Dictionary, it's considered rude to not return a high-five (or fist bump) when someone puts their hand in the air. The reasoning: There's no graceful way for them to lower it without someone returning the love — unless, of course, you're Phil Jackson. Then you just subtlety rub your face with your fist.
