TEAMS: Iowa Hawkeyes

Temple will have a winning season, and secure a bowl berth for the first time since winning the 1979 Garden State Bowl (yes, that was in New Jersey), at least according to the readers who voted in this week's First Look '09 poll. Although it wasn't exactly a heavy turnout, the numbers still rang in favor of at least six wins for the Owls this season.

I'm convinced that even with a .500 record, Temple will get a bowl invitation. And that means unless Akron turns out to be a really big surprise, Temple could be Penn State's toughest non-conference opponent in 2008. A bowl bid would also help the Lions' schedule strength. And it could sure use the assistance in that department.

Results below the fold.
