After being upset by Bothell last week, the Skyline Spartans will now have to regroup to be able to make a run at another state championship. One of their key players all season long has been wide reciever Miles Edwards. While Heaps' main target is Kasen Williams, Edwards has provided Heaps with a second option and has made defenses think twich before double covering Kasen. We got a chance to talk with Edwards, check out our conversation after the jump!
How's the season been so far for you personally? Is it all that you expected?
The season has been great. I like the change and am very happy with it. I wish we could have beaten Oaks Christian, but it taught us a lot and made us a stronger group of guys.
How was it playing Oaks Christian? What are your impressions of Nick Montana?
Playing Oaks was ridiculous. The enviornment was crazy and it was fun to be out there even though we lost. Nick really impressed me. He made big plays and stayed relaxed even in the hostile enviornment. I think he'll be good in the husky offense in the years to come
What's the college situation looking like for you? Do you plan on playing football at the next level?
I have few schools looking, but not much. Right now it can go either way next year. What happens happens.
Did you set any individual goals for yourself going into this season? If so, what were they?
The only goal I set was to be remembered at Skyline for a long time to come, even though my time was short
Who do you model your game after? Any particular pro or college players?
I wouldn't say there is one in paticular but if i had to pick id say joe Jurevicius. he's a big possesion reciever and was physical.
Do you plan on playing basketball for Skyline?
I played a little with them over the spring and summer and as of right now I will be playing.
Well, thanks for your time Miles and good luck the rest of the football season!
Thanks, anytime.
