There are conflicting opinions about whether or not Robbie Hummel is an excellent pro prospect, which we can only hope developed as the result of the back injury that interrupted his sophomore season. Because if Hummel is healthy and at his best, there's no reason to believe he won't be a starting-quality NBA player. He is too strong, too skilled, too versatile not to find a job somewhere in the league when his time to play there arrives. Of course, all of that comes down to him being fully healed.
In June, at the USA Basketball trials, he insisted he was fine, but it was clear he hadn't yet recovered all of his athleticism. Those who've seen him lately claim Hummel is moving like he did before the injury developed. That's important, because Hummel is the player who can get Purdue to the Final Four. He's that important as a scorer, rebounder, passer and leader.
