The Seattle Mariners signed infielder Alex Cintron, who was designated for assignment by the Nationals on May 20, to a minor league contract today. Cintron will join Triple-A Tacoma. Cintron, played in 21 games before getting designated for assignment. He mainly plays second base, shortstop, and third base. He should serve as a utility man if he gets called up to the big leagues.
