By Jacob Camargo November 08, 2009Perhaps overshadowed by Strikeforce's two events this weekend, World Victory Road's Sengoku 11th Battle took place on Saturday, which saw its favored headliners Hatsu Hioki and Jorge Santiago get upset.
Sengoku 11 took place early Saturday morning , Nov. 7, at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan and aired live in North America on HDNet.
In the main event, Michihiro Omigawa notched a controversial split decision victory over Hatsu Hioki. Hioki was shocked by the decision and even Omigawa disagreed with the judges and thought his opponent won, so much so, that he took his winning trophy and handed it over to Hioki's corner.
The first round was a tossup and could have gone either way, however, it appeared Hioki won the round with his grappling, attempting several submissions on Omigawa.
