Rear Naked News:
-Ranallo, Johnson, and Shamrock all dressed in shiny suits and looking like Batman villains.-The announcers were on fire, as usual.----"That's where Werdum was trying to put his game into the game." - Shamrock----Shamrock also butchered Sokoudjou's name multiple times. At one point, I think he was calling him "Sudoku".----"CBS stands for 'Can't Beat Sokoudjou'" - Ranallo-I wish they'd go with a two man booth of Gus Johnson and Pat Miletich. You play off Johnson's lack of MMA knowledge against Miletich's ability to explain things in concise terms that even new fans understand.-Jimmy Lennon Jr. also deserves some grief for his overblown introductions. He called Jake Shields, "MMA's world renowned cagemaster". Do we even need introductions for the undercard? It's on TV. We have graphics telling us their records. I'd be a lot happier to never have to see the introductions again. They're a waste of time.-How does WAMMA have enough money to advertise on the mat? -Mousasi's trip on Sokoudjou was superb, yet they somehow did not show a replay.
-Hopefully this is the last time we have to see Sokoudjou portrayed as a top fighter.-Jake Shields should never be allowed on CBS again. I found the fight somewhat entertaining, but this is an event geared towards casual fans. It was a terrible lead-in for the main event and hurt the overall ratings.-Miller's entrance was embarrassing. If it was funny, I guess I could see the point of airing it.-Big John McCarthy got a huge ovation. He's more popular than most fighters.

Some Advice For Strikeforce
I'll continue saying it until they listen to me...Pat Miletich should be an announcer for all of Strikeforce's major events. The fact he is passed over for Frank Shamrock boggles my mind. Honestly, Frank Shamrock isn't even that well known. Most casual fans probably think it's Ken. Maybe that's what Strikeforce is going for, but they'd be a lot better off with Miletich...
Shields picks up Strikeforce middleweight title with win over 'Mayhem'
In the battle for the vacant Strikeforce middleweight belt, Jake Shields won a unanimous decision 48-47, 49-46, 49-46. Despite having the Chicago crowd squarely against him, Shields employed an effective, smothering offense to grind out the win over Jason "Mayhem" Miller.
In the first round, Shields got a quick takedown, and did some damage on the ground. Mayhem got up, but then...
Strikeforce postfight: Middleweight champ Shields is out of place
Jake Shields did a nice of stepping up the last two times out when Scott Coker and Strikeforce needed a solid name fighter on two of its most recent card. The problem now is Shields holds a title belt in a division where he doesn't really belong. The 30-year-old from San Francisco can definitely compete at middleweight but really belongs down at 170 pounds and admitted such in the...
