A two time Heisman Trophy Finalist, a two time National Champion, and a Heisman Trophy winner; Tim Tebow has accomplished all of this and believe it or not he still has a full season left to play. The quarterback and leader of the Florida Gators is well on his way to becoming the greatest college football player of all-time.
If there is any knock on Tebow it is that he is not a prototypical quarterback and that he is not a great passer. However, it can also be stated that his ability to run makes him even more dangerous than traditional quarterbacks. Even if Tebow is not as good of a passer as defending Heisman winner Sam Bradford, it is not like Tebow is a bad passer. His 65.8 completion percentage is solid and his 6 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio is unparalleled.
While he has thrown for 67 touchdowns, he has also run for 43. Over his first three seasons at Florida Tebow is averaging 4.3 yards per carry. His numbers exceed those of Vick and McNabb who were highly regarded as mobile quarterbacks.
Heart is tough to measure or to compare to other players, but it is evident that Tebow ranks among the top in heart, desire, and passion for the game. The fire with which Tebow plays makes it nearly impossible to dislike the kid, unless of course your favorite team is also in the SEC. Tebow is constantly seen encouraging his teammates and getting on them to make sure they are playing their best and putting one-hundred percent effort into each and every play.
Until the day where Tebow begins his career in the NFL there will continue to be doubts about how his game will translate to the professional level. While those doubts are justified and the criticism is fair; there is no doubt that Tebow is one of the best players in the history of college football.

Today on TimTeblog:Best Ever Talk, Plus How To Stop Tebow
So this morning kicked off with me playing off SN's magazine cover story by Tebow about Tebow -- yes, I talked about the "Best Ever" discussion, but on TimTeblog, I went into Tebow's essay to explain why the reasons he came back -- "platform" and "history" -- are intrinsically tied together. Then Stewart Mandel published a statistical analysis of why Tebow will likely end his college...
Thou shalt not utilize Tebow's image in vain, for profit
It was fun while it lasted, but the Fort Meyers Miracle baseball club's "What Would Tim Tebow Do?" Night -- featuring, among other things, a jump pass as the opening pitch, a surrogate Tebow attempting to walk on water, and a Florida-Arkansas ticket giveaway -- was too good to be true. Inevitably, Wednesday's Tebow Night was torpedoed at the last second and reduced to "What Would...
Morning Reading: Stopping Tim Tebow
I got a comment once regarding a Tim Tebow post to the effect of “you know there are other players on the team other than Tebow.” It made me chuckle because despite this being predominantly a Florida site, I dedicate less posts solely to Tebow than most places that talk equally about every sport. But with the Gator signal caller entering his final season in orange and blue...

Morning Reading: Is Tim Tebow Truly One of the Greatest Ever?
Another Tim Tebow article?!? Deal with it. We’re one week away from Florida kicking off its 2009 season. And one week away from Tebow’s final year as a Gator. So if people write good articles about #15, I’m going to highlight them. There’s so much written about Tebow out there (as I’m sure you are quite aware) that from time to time you’ll stumble across something...

Fly: Minor league team alters Tebow promotion
Hey, didn't you used to be the only former Kentucky coach in trouble?

Thursday 08/27 Quickie: Tebow, Vick,Papi, Dodgers, Pitino, Pryor, Kennedy
I swear, I had no intention of leading today's SN column with Tebow -- I was saving that for next week, truth be told -- but SN.com led with a Tebow package, and the moment was here.It is the crux of TimTeblog.com -- and something you have seen a lot here over the last year -- but expanded for the "national" SN.com audience: Is Tim Tebow the greatest college player...
