It's time. I never thought it would happen this season, but it's time that someone other than Florida hold the mantle of the No. 1 team in the land.

So who takes that title? The team most likely to meet the Gators in the SEC title game in Atlanta: Alabama.
No, Florida hasn't done anything to necessarily hurt its chances, but we do have to take Tim Tebow's concussion into consideration here. Does he play next week vs. LSU? Does anyone really believe this is the best team in the land if he isn't at the controls? Until Tebow is back out there on the field, we have to consider him being carted off detremental as a loss. That makes the Crimson Tide, the most complete team so far, which has a victory over a hard-charging Virginia Tech squad, as the logical replacement. Note, this is subject to change if the Football Jesus heads into Baton Rouge next week, but for now, let's welcome 'Bama to the top of the charts. Nick Saban and Co. are here all week.
On to this week's rankings:

1. Alabama 4-0
2. Florida 4-0
3. Texas 4-0
