Game Seventy-Seven - Cubs 2 Brewers 1 - 10 innings
WP - Kevin Gregg (3-2) LP - Mark DiFelice (4-1) Save - None
What a ballgame and the Cubs might have gotten a gift on the final call by homeplate umpire Bill Welke.
Ryan Theriot started the tenth with a one-out single off Craig Counsell's glove into right field. On a 1-2 pitch to Derrek Lee, Mark DiFelice uncorked a wild pitch that advanced Theriot to second. Derrek Lee Pounds Brewers into Submission
Derrek Lee has often seemed like the only Cub who still knows what to do with a bat. On Thursday, Lee kicked his sometimes one-man-gang-like season up yet another notch by blasting a pair of homers off the Brewers - a 3-run shot and a grand slam - leading the Cubs to a 9-5 rout [...]

Cubs vs. Brewers to the DEATH!
We have the big holiday weekend coming up and the big four-game series to go with it. The Milwaukee Brewers lead the NL Central by a game over the St. Louis Cardinals and 3.5 up on our Cubs. CUBS IN BRIEF: Zambrano gets tricky, still can't nail down 'W'
Carlos Zambrano, with four no-decisions in his last five starts, hasn't pitched a winner since June5. Run support has been a problem in some games; it was Zambrano, after all, who drove in the Cubs' only run Friday before Jake Fox's bases-loaded walk resulted in a 10-inning victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
