Weird day today at the FloP. It almost felt like the end of the season, with players packing their bags. This time, it's a bye week, and Rex Ryan gave the players six days off. It's unconventional, to be sure, but Ryan felt the team would be best served by getting away from football for a while. Ditto, the coaches. He wants them out of the building by Thursday, staying away to re-charge. For a coach who just lost his fourth game in five weeks, on TWO kickoff-return touchdowns, Ryan was his usual defiant and confident self. At 4-4, he still believes the Jets can make the playoffs. His best response today came when Glauber from Newsday asked him to respond to comments made by NBC analyst Tony Dungy. In a nutshell, Dungy, speaking Sunday night, tweaked the Jets and Ryan for talking too much in defeat. Dungy's message was: My mother always told me when you win, say little. When you lose, say less.
