Two more clubs have declined the options on their veteran catchers; Ramon Hernandez, Matt Treanor and Yorvit Torrealba.The Tigers out righted Matt Treanor who refused assignment and is now a free agent. Treanor spent the first five seasons of his major league career as the Marlins back-up catcher. Last year he appeared in four games for the Tigers. The 33 y/o right handed hitter is a lifetime .232 hitter with a SLg. pct. of .311. The Mets offered Ramon Hernandez a contract back in 2006 before they traded for Paul LoDuca, Hernandez opted for a longer contract with the Orioles. The 33 y/o right handed catcher had his option declined today but the Reds who traded for him in 2009 are hoping to resign him.
