PLAYERS: Lance Armstrong

Well, that was to be expected.  A flat stage on a rainy day right before the start of the Pyrenees was bound to attract a breakaway that the peloton would only half-assedly try to catch.  In the end, the breakaway was caught on the slight uphill to the finish. The Critic-Proofing Of Lance Armstrong

newVideoPlayer("/Nike_deadspin_2.flv", 506, 423,""); The ad you see here is the new Lance Armstrong spot for Nike, which would be merely standard-issue, inspiromatic marketing schlock if it didn't come so creepily close to suggesting that to criticize Lance now is to somehow enable cancer. Maybe this is an ungenerous reading. But it's hard not to see the...

Tour de France, Stage Six: America, You Can Remain Interested

May I, Average American, Stay Interested? Yes, as Lance Armstrong did nothing on the day to harm his status as being in a virtual tie with Fabian Cancellera for the overall lead. Hey Racing Fans! Start Following the Tour De France.

It was Einstein that first introduced us to the theory of relativity. Simply put, If I'm traveling 100 mph and you're traveling 100 mph right beside me, then relative to each other, we're more or less standing still. This is really the enigma of racing such that no matter the speeds involved, relative to the rest of the field, there is very little difference in acceleration...
