by Matt WatsonFiled under: Timberwolves, NBA Draft, NBA RumorsWhen the Kings opted for Tyreke Evans with the fourth pick, Ricky Rubio fell to the Timberwolves at No. 5. Considering it wasn't that long ago that Rubio was talked about as a potential No. 1 pick, you can't blame Minnesota for taking a player who should be their point guard of the future.Except, just five minutes later, the Timberwolves took Jonny Flynn out of Syracuse, giving them the two best point guards of the draft. Are they going to hold on to both players? It's theoretically possible, but a more likely scenario is that we'll see one of them involved in another trade, possibly announced sometime tonight.Trade Coming? The Wolves used the 6th overall pick on Jonny Flynn, the lighting quick and charismatic point guard from Syracuse.

Minnesota selects their second point guard with Flynn

After grabbing Ricky Rubio with the fifth pick, chose another point guard by taking Syracuse guard Jonny Flynn. Last season, Flynn averaged 17.5 points per game and 6.7 assists per game. The pick comes as a bit of a surprise as Minnesota now has two young point guards. Early word is that they will keep both, but it wouldn't be a shock to see him traded before the night is...

What was that sound? Rubio, Flynn are your newest Wolves

It was an eruption inside Target Center at the fan party when David Stern called Ricky Rubio’s name out for the Wolves. You sure didn’t hear that often last winter. It took about a second for that “Ole, ole, ole” soccer chant to resonate through NBA City. Minutes later, the Wolves took Jonny Flynn of Syracuse next. Two point [...]

Jonny Flynn Is All About the 'Mid Coast'

6. Minnesota Timberwolves: Jonny Flynn, Syracuse. Minnesota is stocking up on point guards, and why not? Rubio isn't ready to come in and lead the team for 30 minutes a night, but that's Flynn's specialty. I'm assuming for now that they keep both guys, especially considering the amount of time it's going to take Rubio to acclimate to the NBA. Flynn is ready to...

POSSIBLE PICKS FOR NETS AT 11

Maybe more than any year in recent memory, you can flip a coin when it comes to the Nets' draft pick. And it wouldn't hurt if you can find a three-sided coin. If Syracuse point guard Jonny Flynn or Arizona power forward Jordan Hill slip through...

Have the Kings Soured on Rubio?

The general feeling in Sac-town appears to be that Ricky’s draft stock has dropped: “With Thursday’s draft drawing near and the Kings’ workout schedule having been completed with Ricky Rubio’s visit Monday, the deliberating about the team’s No. 4 pick continued internally. And while their list of top candidates is believed to include Rubio, Memphis...
