TEAMS: Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks
When The Jaguars Have The Ball:
All the pregame buzz will be about stopping Maurice Jones-Drew, and The Seahawks certainly must be able to limit his production. However, I submit that it will be Jacksonville's other hyphenated hellion, Mike Sims-Walker, who will give the Seahawks more trouble. The Seahawks' run defense, with Brandon Mebane as its greatest contributor, is capable of making sure MJD doesn't hurt us too badly. However, even with the return of Josh Wilson, the Seahawks' secondary is still banged up, and Mike Sims-Walker has proven to be David Garrard's most consistent target. Hopefully the Seahawks can stop the downfield passing game without forgetting about Jacksonville's dangerous running back.
When The Seahawks Have The Ball:
All eyes will be on Matt Hasselbeck, who once again bears the hopes of our season. These last three weeks have proven again that the Seahawks are not a playoff contender with Seneca Wallace at the helm. Hasselbeck must prove to all of us that he can still make the throws he used to make and that he isn't so fragile as to be totally unreliable. The Jaguars pass defense has been poor this year, so Hasselbeck has no excuse for a poor game. The running game can help out with this by getting four or five yards a carry and keeping Hasselbeck's job easy. John Carlson must regain his position in this offense as he has all but disappeared with Wallace at QB.
Prediction: Seahawks 31, Jaguars 24

Hawks Add OT Kyle Williams to the Roster From the Practice Squad
The Seahawks have signed offensive tackle Kyle Williams from the practice squad. The move announced Saturday adds depth to a depleted position for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville. The team released defensive tackle Michael Bennett to make room on the active roster for Williams.
Williams was added last weekend before Seattle lost at Indianapolis. The team [...]
With Hasselbeck Back under Center, Seahawks Shut out Visiting Jaguars 41-0
Seattle, your season is officially not over.
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, despite having two fractured ribs, returned to the starting lineup Sunday against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars and singlehandedly brought the Seahawks out of its coma-like state and back into the NFC West picture with Seattle’s 41-0 throttling of the Jaguars.
In his first action since leaving late [...]
The Legend of Owen Schmitt: A History of Self-Abuse
I’m sure you’ve already seen this video of the Seattle Seahawks’ Owen Schmitt bashing his own head in – during the pre-game introductions!
But this guy has a history of these boneheaded outbursts. Check out the 40 second mark of this clip of Schmitt after a shanked punt back in his days at West Virginia.

Wrightster: Oregon/UCLA Bet With MJD
What's a Pac-10 game without a little fun? I had the pleasure of playing with UCLA Alum Maurice Jones-Drew for 3 seasons while I was in Jacksonville, and like me he is a proud alum. During football season you could frequently hear MJD yelling "the boys in blue, the boys in blue" after any win by UCLA. So I decided to make a little friendly wager. If the Ducks beat UCLA...
Owen Schmitt Was A Little Too Pumped Up For Yesterday's Game
Pregame inductions are notoriously a time for players to pump themselves up for the battle to follow. Some yell. So have a little signature dance or shimmy. But they usually don't bring bodily harm upon themselves. Owen Schmitt does did.
Watch as Schmitt, using only his helmet, makes a gash so big in his head, stitches are needed to close it.
By the way, the Seahawks...
Jack Del Rio Taking the Hard Line Right Out the Door
Throughout his tenure as Jaguars coach, Jack Del Rio has never been one to deny his team the hardline approach. And in this, a critical season that will determine whether or not he keeps his job, he has hardly abstained.
Two weeks back, with the team teetering at 1-2, he ordered starting quarterback David Garrard to stop his regular Friday radio appearances, later telling reporters...
Going deep with No. 95
