TEAMS:
Notre Dame Fighting Irish,
Mississippi State Bulldogs,
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets,
Michigan State Spartans,
Boston College Eagles,
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
I just wanted to briefly explore this widely accepted narrative that whoever wins the SEC today is going to roll Notre Dame due to … uh … duh! SEC and stuff!
I see it being said everywhere, from the mainstream media to bloggers to random people on Twitter to even those who I know hate the SEC. Everybody seems to have conceded that the SEC will pull out the win, whether they’re fans or haters.
Why? Because the SEC is awesome and look at all the elite teams! The SEC plays tough games week in and week out while Notre Dame scratches by against cupcakes!
Except … not.
The SEC/Notre Dame narrative has become so prevalent that even I bought into it, so I’m not an innocent party to this either. However, after being brow-beaten into my opinion, I actually decided to, you know, compare the schedules to test the hypothesis.
