After having recently completed my Level 1 and 2 coaching badge with the F.A. I was surprised at how basic the coaching course was and how huge and important coaching parts were missing. The main point that caught my eye was there was little to no mention of warm ups within the system. I have been a coach for 5 years and I know that this is one of the most important points for coaching and getting right. I don't like to give my coaching secrets away but if you do your warm up correctly create discipline, focus, team bonding, communication and work on players balance, flexibility and the players knowledge of the human body. All this from simply getting your players to warm up in the right way. When doing the course all I had was a light jog for 5 minutes and a stetch that you lead for yourself. I then go to academies and sports courses and learn about the difference of dynamic and static stretches and cool downs and why they are important. This seems fundamental to football ...
