That Maryland lost a close one to UNC is not the point. The point is that Maryland, a team of underclassmen thought to be at least a year away from anything, was able to push a star-studded, No. 5-ranked team to the brink.
Bravo to that, and to the continued development of freshman seven-footer Alex Len, who basically took on UNC’s All-American frontcourt by himself. Anyway...

Maryland was picked to finish fifth in the ACC, as voted by the league's head coaches, announced Friday. The Terps are coming off a season in which they won the most ACC games in school history.
